No Memory

I don't know how to start this. I'm terrified, how do you just forget everything? Wake up one day and not know anything, no one recognises you, nothing. I can't go to the police. I've started this blog as a last resort, I have nothing else to do. Maybe someone out there can help me. Maybe.

About three days ago I woke up to the smell of rotting wood. I was laying in a gross excuse of a bed..no sheets or pillows just a mattress covered in stains with a few holes in it. At first everything seemed fine, laying there half asleep, not sure exactly where I was but not really caring either. Then thoughts start sinking in and you begin to realise the situation. Except, it was more the lack of thought, not knowing anything. It is difficult to describe, not knowing where you are or who you are, it is absolutely terrifying.

I panicked, stumbling out of "bed" and onto the floor. I literally froze, shocked, looking down I saw my hands, covered in a red crust. Blood? I didn't know, I still don't really know. In a panic I stumbled into the next room only to trip on a flipped over chair.

I laid there for a while, trying to collect myself, see if I could remember anything. The only thing I could find in the way back of my head was a name: Lance. If it's my name or someone else's I'm not sure, but it's the name I'm using for now.

After what was almost twenty minutes of reflecting I got up and assessed my surroundings. I was in a small two room house. One room being a bedroom and the other a kitchen/living room. The place was disgusting, floorboards where coming up, the walls rotting, furniture covered in bugs and other gross who-knows-whats. I quickly fought off the urge to throw up and walked back into the bedroom. Near the "bed" was a backpack, I walked over and grabbed it.

Here is a list of the backpacks contents.

- A sweatshirt
- Wallet containing $800 (No I.D.)
- HP Laptop
- Granola Bar
- Watch

I quickly downed the bar ( didn't taste too good) and walked to the sink in the next room. Not to my surprise it didn't work. I figured I should leave, get help, so I grabbed the backpack and left.

I stood on the side of a hill, a road below. I followed the road into a town, not too small but not large in any means. It was about 7:00 in the morning, no one was really up and about. I stopped at a motel to ask where I could find a police station. The lady at the front desk told me the sheriff was not in town, no one was substituting either. It sounds crazy but I'm serious there was NO sheriff and after three days here there still isn't one.

That is pretty much the whole story, I've been staying at this motel, it's cheap and has free wifi. Hopefully the sheriff will show up soon, I don't know if he is on vacation or what. When something eventful happens I will update.
